As announced in Genshin Impact’s game plan, there are major updates/patches in every 6 weeks. Each of them is labeled with a version number.
In the starting chapter “Prologue” the story takes place in Mondstadt while in Chapter I it focuses on Liyue. Those are game versions 1.0 to 1.6 all about. When the game was patched to Version 2.0, Chapter II and a new nation were revealed in which the Traveler is able to sets foot in Inazuma. In Version 3.0, Chapter III, Dendro elements were discovered and Sumeru is the new nation to be explored by Travelers.

This is Dragonspine, an enormous mountain that holds the remains of the venomous dragon, Durin, who fell here after the battle with Dvalin.
